Course description
The course “Boundary Element Method” covers the following sections: boundary value problems for elliptic differential equations, variational formulations, fundamental solutions and boundary integral operators, boundary integral equations and the boundary element method. In considering these topics, the main attention is focused on the mathematical formulation of boundary and variational problems, the study of the corresponding functional spaces and the numerical discretization of the obtained boundary integral equations. The presentation of the material is carried out with the help of modern terms and concepts from the field of numerical methods for solving problems of mathematical physics.
