Lviv University’s “Cheremosh” Folk Ensemble Celebrates 60th Anniversary
During a gala concert dedicated to the ensemble’s milestone anniversary, Rector of the University Volodymyr Melnyk shared:
“The glorious university collective ‘Cheremosh’ is 60 years old. A deep respect for authentic Ukrainian traditions, a sincere love for the native Ukrainian word, and the sensitive singing soul of the intellectual youth of Lviv University united active and dedicated individuals even during the totalitarian regime to promote and enrich our national spiritual heritage. Since its founding, the ensemble has been a hub of national spirit, serving as a unique challenge to totalitarianism.”
We sincerely congratulate the renowned ensemble on their jubilee and wish them inexhaustible creative inspiration, new artistic achievements, grateful audiences, and the further enrichment of Ukrainian cultural heritage. We are especially pleased to note that a long-standing soloist of the ensemble is Markiyan Shchupak, a student of the PMA-33 group and a member of the Lviv Academic Men’s Choir “Dudaryk.”
