Course description

The course examines the difference schemes and computational methods for solving nonlinear boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations and the problems of mathematical physics, methods of reducing the nonlinear boundary value problems for ODE to Cauchy problems and systems of nonlinear algebraic equations, method of linearization, methods of the continuation of the solution according to the parameter, methods for solving nonlinear problems of gas dynamics. The problems of numerical stability and convergence of algorithms as well as their implementation on computers are studied.
